Chess Jam privacy policy

Last updated 23 October 2026

In short: Chess Jam has no accounts and keeps your progress on your device. We (Bermind) don't collect any personal data. The game shows ads from Google AdMob: optional reward videos you choose to watch, and an occasional ad between levels. Google may collect device data to show and measure those ads. If you sign in to Google Play Games, your Play Games name and the achievements you unlock are shared with Google to show your achievements.

Who we are

Chess Jam is made by Bermind, an independent game developer based in the United Kingdom (bermind.dev). For anything about this policy, email support@bermind.dev.

What the game stores

Your game progress (levels cleared, stars, hints, settings and similar) is saved only in the app's private storage on your device. It is never uploaded to us. Uninstalling the game or clearing its data deletes it. The game has no accounts of its own and no analytics of its own.

Ads

Chess Jam shows two kinds of ads, both provided by Google AdMob:

To show ads, limit how often they appear, measure them and prevent fraud, Google's software in the app may collect:

Google processes this data under its own policies: how Google uses information from apps that use its services and Google's privacy policy. We don't receive this data in a form that identifies you.

Google Play Games

Chess Jam's achievements are powered by Google Play Games. If you sign in to Google Play Games (the game may sign you in automatically if you already use it on your phone), your Play Games name, profile picture and the achievements you unlock are shared with Google to show them to you, and to other players as your Play Games profile settings allow. This is handled under Google's privacy policy; you can manage your Play Games profile and its visibility in the Google Play Games app. If you don't sign in, your achievements stay on your device.

Your choices

Children

Chess Jam is not directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect personal data from them. If you believe a child has provided personal data through the game, contact us and we'll help.

Your rights

Under UK and EU data protection law you have rights to access, correct and delete your personal data and to object to its use. Because we don't hold personal data about you, requests about ad data are best made to Google, but we're happy to help: email support@bermind.dev. You can also complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk).

Changes

If this policy changes, we'll update it here and change the date at the top.
